Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Her modeling career started in Italy in Italy, where she was raised and born in California. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film, was her first performance. After a difficult fight her way to a role, she got a chance as 'Starship Troopers' in the film Starship Troopers. The transition was difficult for Amy since she needed change from modeling to acting. Models aren't thought of as great actors and so tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy had a determination to be successful and eventually she was offered bigger roles starting in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Then she stepped into main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major box office success and Amy was finally able to get the fame she had been trying for for more than a decade. There were several major films within the Crank trilogy alongside Jason Statham. And she was also a regular character in the Shameless series.
